Manually Transferring SystemDNS Zones to Storefront

This guide will explain how to manually migrate SystemDNS zones from the OpenSRS Reseller Control Panel to Storefront’s Shopco DNS, enabling you or your customers to access and manage their DNS records.

Customers using OpenSRS SystemDNS nameservers cannot edit their DNS records from within Storefront. DNS changes for those zones will need to be made in OpenSRS. The SystemDNS zones will continue to resolve and function, but the customers cannot edit the DNS themselves in Storefront.

If you want your customers to be able to edit their DNS in the Storefront customer portal, the domain must use Shopco DNS. You will need to recreate and migrate the DNS using the steps below manually.

Retrieving DNS zones from the Reseller Control Panel

  1. In the Domains section of the Reseller Control Panel, enter all or part of the domain name and select Search.
  2. Select the domain you wish to view.
  3. Scroll down to the DNS section and copy any records you wish to bring over.

Managing DNS for a Storefront end-user

In Storefront, you can view and manage your customers. You can also log in as your customer to manage any services.

  1. Log in to Storefront.
  2. Select the Customers tab.
  3. A list of your customers is displayed. Select the customer name.
  4. To access your customer's account, select Login as Customer.
  5. Select the domain name or hit Manage.
  6. In the DNS Records section, select Add DNS Record.
  7. Adjust the record type, enter DNS information, and hit Add Record to save.
  8. In the Nameservers section, select Reset to default to change the DNS to default Storefront nameservers, then hit Confirm.
Note: Unless the Shopco Storefront Nameservers are utilized, added DNS records will not take effect.
