Google and Yahoo announced requirements targeting bulk senders and will require a DMARC in place beginning February 2024. By focusing on email validation, they are helping prevent unwanted spam and potential bad actors from reaching their customers’ inboxes. This will apply to all customers that have domains registered with us.
Tucows has integrated auto-updating DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) records to assist with validation for reseller technical contact domains. This will help with sending account notification emails, such as domain renewal reminders, to end-users.
Accommodating DKIM records
Please add both records listed in this section.
Note: Replace example.com with your domain name.
CNAME records
Hostname | Record type | Address value |
key1._domainkey.example.com. | CNAME | key1.example.com.dkim.hostedemail.link |
key2._domainkey.example.com. | CNAME | key2.example.com.dkim.hostedemail.link |
Locating your technical contact domain
As resellers, your technical domain email sends out account notices. You will need to add the DKIM records to your technical email domain. After you find your technical contact email, please go ahead and add the DKIM records.
- Log in to the Reseller Control Panel (RCP).
- Select the Domains tab.
-
Click Settings. Your technical email domain is located under the default settings section. The DKIM record is needed for this domain.
Adding a CNAME record using SystemDNS nameservers
To add a CNAME record for a domain using our systemdns.com nameservers, first add a subdomain with 'key1._domainkey.example.com or key2._domainkey.example.com'. Once added, you can select the CNAME option for that subdomain.
- Log in to the Reseller Control Panel (RCP).
-
Enter the domain name in the search field and click Search.
- Click on the domain name from the search results.
-
Click Edit in the DNS section.
-
Click Add Sub-domain to save. If your registrar prefills your domain name in the host record fields, you can remove example.com.
Note: Both sub-domain records are required. Replace example.com with your domain name.
