FAQ on two-factor authentication (2FA) for reseller accounts

Two-factor authentication gives an additional level of security for your reseller account. In addition to the password, resellers will have to enter a token to log in. 2FA can be set up based on an authenticator app or SMS.

How can I log in if I don’t have my phone?

You can log in using the emergency tokens you were provided when you enabled 2FA. Using one of these tokens will disable 2FA, so you will need to re-enable it using the app or SMS.

How can I disable 2FA for my account?

You can either use one of the emergency tokens to log into your account or disable 2FA from the control panel.

  1. Log in to the Reseller Control Panel.
  2. Click on the Account settings tab and click Edit next to 2-Factor authentication.
  3. Now select Disable SMS or Disable authenticator app. You will be prompted to enter the current password, and a new password for your account as the current password will be reset.

If I use the authenticator app for app-based 2FA, are my user credentials, or any other private information, shared with the app provider (e.g., Google)?

No, the app just takes the seed key we provide to you to generate a time-based token. It does not send any information to the provider and does not require a live internet connection to generate a token since it is completely based on the key and the initial token you entered during setup.

How can I retrieve my emergency tokens if I didn’t print them initially?

If you still have access to your account, you can regenerate recovery tokens. It is important to note that each time you generate new tokens, the previous set is invalidated.

  1. Log in to the Reseller Control Panel.
  2. Click on the Account settings tab and click on the Regenerate recovery code option next to 2-Factor authentication.
