Management of Storefront Test Environments and Transaction Flow

This guide details the transaction process for customers buying items through your Storefront. It also provides steps for making a test transaction and explains what managing the domain looks like from the customer's perspective.

Running a Test Domain Registration Transaction

  1. Navigate to your test Storefront customer environment.
    Note: To access the test site, use the following link: resellerusername.test.shopco.com. Be sure to replace "resellerusername" with your own reseller name.
  2. Enter your desired domain name and click Search.
  3. Add the available domain to your cart, and click on the cart icon.
  4. A popup will appear, indicating that you have added an item to your cart. Press Continue to Cart to proceed.
  5. Please verify the transaction and activate any additional features, including auto-renewal and privacy protection. If your customer is not logged into their account, they will be prompted to create a new account or log in as an existing customer. 

    Click Continue to Checkout to proceed.
    Note: When creating a new account, a six-digit verification code will be sent to the email address provided during checkout.

  6. Enter billing details and hit Continue to Registration Information.
    Note: You will see a payment screen where you can use any of Stripe's test payment cards.
  7. Confirm and verify that the domain registration information is accurate, then press Continue to Review.
  8. Review your purchase and click Pay to complete the transaction.
  9. Once your order is completed, click on Domain Details to adjust domain settings, contact information, or DNS configurations.
    Note: Clicking Continue to Domains takes you back to your domain listing page.

Updating domain settings in the test environment

  1. Navigate to your test Storefront customer enviroment.
    Note: To access the test site, use the following link: resellerusername.test.shopco.com. Be sure to replace "resellerusername" with your own reseller name.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain.
  3. The overview tab will open first, providing options to renew the domain, view registration details, enable or disable auto-renewal or domain locking, and view the transfer code.

Updating domain contacts in the test environment

  1. Navigate to your test Storefront customer enviroment.
    Note: To access the test site, use the following link: resellerusername.test.shopco.com. Be sure to replace "resellerusername" with your own reseller name.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain.
  3. The overview tab will open first. Scroll down to find the contacts section. Click on Edit to modify any contacts for the domain.

Managing DNS in the test environment

  1. Navigate to your test Storefront customer enviroment.
    Note: To access the test site, use the following link: resellerusername.test.shopco.com. Be sure to replace "resellerusername" with your own reseller name.
  2. Click Manage next to the domain.
  3. Select Nameservers & DNS.

Updating Nameservers

  • Click Manage next to the domain.
  • Select Nameservers & DNS.
  • Press Edit nameserver.
  • You can modify the nameservers as needed and click Save to finalize your changes.

Add Domain Forwarding

  • Click Manage next to the domain.
  • Select Nameservers & DNS.
  • Hit Add forwarding.
  • Select the domain you want to forward, enter the destination URL, and click Save to confirm your changes.

Updating DNS Records

  • Click Manage next to the domain.
  • Select Nameservers & DNS.
  • Hit Add DNS Record.
  • Select the record type, enter your desired record, and click Add Record to confirm your changes.
