WordPress Update Guide

Keeping your WordPress version up to date is crucial for ensuring security, enhancing performance, and accessing new features.

Backup your website

Before updating, back up your website to avoid data loss in case anything goes wrong. You can use:

• Backup Plugins
• Manual Backup:
  • Export your files via SFTP and database via phpMyAdmin
• Daily automatic backups in the Hosting Manager

Check plugin & theme compatibility

Before updating, check that your themes and plugins are compatible with the latest WordPress version:

• Visit the Plugins section in your WordPress dashboard.
• Check for available updates for your themes and plugins.

Update WordPress automatically

WordPress will automatically put your site in maintenance mode, update itself, and restore normal mode once completed.

1. Login to your WordPress Dashboard.
2. Navigate to Dashboard, followed by Updates.
3. Click Update Now if an update is available.
