This guide outlines the steps and responsibilities required to successfully migrate from the previous Storefront to the new OpenSRS Storefront. It includes configuration tasks, customer communication tips, and essential information about what data is or isn’t being migrated.
Before the Migration
We recommend reviewing our Storefront Help Center, which includes detailed guides to help you get started. Before we migrate your account, please review the Getting Started with Storefront guide to help familiarize yourself with the new Storefront.
What will be migrated?
No downtime or service disruption is expected.
- ✅ All active customer accounts with active services/domains.
- ✅ All domain names in your account, including expired or in redemption.
- ✅ DNS records for domains using ns1/2.shopco.com will be replicated to ns1/2/3.shopco.com.
What communications will your customers receive?
Upon migration, your customers will receive an email that includes:
- ✅ Their username
- ✅ A login link
- ✅ Instructions to log in with their existing password or reset it.
- ✅ Steps to add payment info for uninterrupted renewals.
Managing your customer communications
- Notify your customers about the upcoming migration.
- Assure them that their usernames and passwords remain the same.
- Encourage them to:
- Print any billing history or receipts they may need (these won’t be migrated).
- Prepare to re-enter their payment details after migration.
What will not be migrated?
- Your customers’ credit card/payment information.
- Your previous billing history, invoices, or receipts.
Migration timelines
- Migrations will start with a limited number of Storefronts.
- Your previous Storefront will be decommissioned once your new Storefront is activated.
