View email user accounts

Resellers can view email user accounts for a specific domain in the Reseller Control Panel (RCP) or the Mail Administration Centre (MAC) interface. We've also created tools to quickly count the total number of email users in your account.

Viewing users in the RCP

The email users tab lists all of the users in the current domain. Advanced filtering allows resellers to narrow down lists using the appropriate checkboxes to select type/status. For example, to see only regular mailbox users, check only the mailbox option.

To view the users in a domain:

  1. Log in to the RCP.

  3. Enter all or part of the domain name in the search box and click the magnifying glass button.

  4. Choose the domain to view the user list.

Viewing users in the MAC

The users page lists all of the users in the current domain. To search for specific users, enter search criteria in the user field at the top of the page, and click Refresh. You can enter the exact name of the user you are looking for or use an asterisk as a wildcard.

Remove the checkmarks from one or more of the type checkboxes to hide types of users. The target column displays additional information for users who have forwards and aliases. 

To view the users in a domain:

  1. Log in to the MAC.

  3. In the navigation pane, under the domain name, click Users.

MAC quick view tools

We've added tools into the MAC that produce CSV files with the number of users or brand users. Each file is generated on demand. Depending on the number of users, the download may take several minutes to complete. When the CSV fails to generate, an error message file downloads instead. 

Mailbox count tool

This file lists your company's forward, alias, and mailbox count per domain. It also lists a breakdown of mailbox users by size.

To download the CSV file:

  1. Login to the MAC.

Brand report tool

This file provides a breakdown of which users are using custom brands in your account. Each column heading lists the brand name, and the list of users is displayed immediately below.

To download the CSV file:

  1. Login to the MAC.

Error message file

When an error occurs while requesting a CSV file, a text file, named error-message, is downloaded with additional details. The error codes are as follows:

401

User not authorized to run this request.

404

Can't find cluster billing directory.

Can't find cluster billing file.

406

Not all required parameters were specified.

No password or token was specified.

Not all required parameters were specified.

500

Invalid company specification.

Can't determine homedir for company.

Can't get list of all domains under company.

Error processing billing data.

Can't get brands information for company.

RCP settings overview

The following are configurable options for email users in the RCP. These details are also listed directly in the respective help links for each section.  

Mailbox user settings

Mailbox name The username that applies to the mailbox.
Title The user's title.
Language The language in which the mailbox will be displayed when the owner initially logs in to their account. The user can change the language at the mailbox level if they want to view their mailbox in another language.
Mailbox domain The domain to which the mailbox belongs.
Name The user's first and last name.
Timezone From the drop-down list, choose the timezone that the mailbox will use. The user can change the timezone setting at the mailbox level if they want to use another timezone.
Mailbox type The type of email account, either mailbox, forward or filter.
Phone The user's phone number.
Workgroup The workgroup to which the user belongs.
Fax The user's fax number.

Sending and receiving settings

SMTP send limit The maximum number of messages that a user can send in a 24 hour period.
Quota size The maximum storage size for the mailbox
Send mail Determines whether messages can be sent.
Receive mail Determines whether incoming messages will be accepted.
Connect via IMAP4 Determines whether IMAP4 access is allowed.
Connect via POP3 Determines whether POP3 access is allowed.
Aliases Alternative names for this mailbox. Click the plus sign to display a text field, and enter an email alias. Click the plus sign again to add additional aliases to display another field.
Autoresponder enabled When this box is checked, the autoresponder feature is enabled.
Autoresponder interval The number of days before the same recipient will receive the auto-response message again.
Autoresponder end date The last day/time when the auto-response message is in effect. The required format is YYYY-MM-DD.
Autoresponder text The text of the message that is sent when auto-responder is enabled.

Forwarding

Mailbox forwarding When this box is checked, incoming mail is automatically forwarded to the addresses you specify.
Note: Messages that are flagged as spam are not forwarded.
Forward to Click the plus sign to display a text field, and enter the address to which you want the email to be forwarded. Click the plus sign again to add additional addresses to display another field. You can add up to 200 addresses.

Spam Filtering

Reject spam When this box is checked, all incoming messages that are deemed to be spam are rejected rather than being quarantined or tagged.
Spam detection level Choose the aggressiveness level for spam filtering. Choosing a level other than Normal causes the filtering engine to be more aggressive in labelling mail as spam; however, it may also result in more false positives. If you don't specify a spam blocking level, the account uses the domain, company, or global setting.
Spam folder The folder to which all spam messages will be delivered.
Spam header Enter the text that you want to be added to the header of spam messages. The format must begin with a capital letter, but can be followed by anything, for example, X-Spam: Spam detected.
Spam tag The specified tag is prepended to the Subject line of all spam messages.
Safe senders Click the plus sign to display a field and add a sender to the allow list.
Block senders Click the plus sign to display a field and add a sender to the block list.
Note: The Safe and Block Senders lists may be overridden by the domain or company level settings.

Webmail

Login via webmail When enabled, Webmail access will be allowed.
Send via webmail When enabled, messages can be sent via Webmail.
Webmail theme The branding applied to webmail. To change this setting, click to put a check in the override inherited value checkbox, and then choose the brand from the drop-down list.
Webmail theme Indicates whether each of the modules is enabled for this user: Addressbook, Spam Settings, Calendar, Mailbox Manager, RSS Feed, and Files Storage.
Notes Enter any relevant notes or comments.
