.BZH domain policies

Registration Details

Registration details can be found in the TLD reference chart.

Eligibility Requirements

To register and renew a .bzh domain name you must be an individual or a legal entity with a nexus to the .bzh community. This nexus means that you must be linked to the community at the time of registration and thereafter on a linguistic, cultural, tourism, commercial basis, or any other activity conducive to the welfare of the worldwide Brittany or Breton community.

You must be able to show either:

  • That you have a mailing address in Brittany (Côtes d’Armor, Ille-et-Vilaine, Finistère, Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique), OR
  • That you have a web site with a significant and original part devoted to Brittany or the Breton culture, no later than six (6) months after the registration of your domain name, OR
  • That you have a web site with a significant and original part in the Breton or Gallo language, no later than six (6) months after the registration of your domain name, OR
  • That you are a member of the www.bzh association [www.pik.bzh].

Registrations under the .bzh TLD are restricted to bonafide members of the Brittany community, and subject to the further requirement that the registrant’s actions in the .bzh community, as well as the registrant’s use of the registered domain name must respect and safeguard the image of Brittany and the Breton community. This means the domain and its use must be:

(i) generally accepted as legitimate; and

(ii) beneficial to the interests of the Brittany and the Breton community; and

(iii) of commensurate quality with the role and importance of the registered domain name; and

(iv) in good faith at the time of registration and thereafter.

Community nexus and acceptable use are subject to post validation.
