Eligibility Details
Registrants need to complete the verification via travel industry acknowledgment after domain registration. The registrant must maintain eligibility throughout the license term, including renewal.
When the registrant ceases to be a travel industry member as defined by the registry, the registrant must give notice within fourteen days or cease to be eligible for renewal. Registrants no longer need to obtain a UIN before registering a .TRAVEL domain.
The following types of businesses or individuals may register a .TRAVEL domain:
- Airlines
- Attractions and theme parks
- Bed and breakfast houses
- Bus, taxi and limousine operators
- Camp facility operators
- Vehicle rental companies and airport specialty car park companies
- Computer reservation and travel technology providers
- Convention and visitor's bureaus
- Cruise lines
- Ferries
- Hotels, resorts, and casinos
- National tourism offices
- Passenger rail lines
- Restaurants
- Tour operators
- Travel agents
- Travel media
- Travel-consumer and market research organizations
- Travel insurance
- Travel training institutes
- Suppliers of goods or services to the eligible industry participants
- Creators and providers of travel and tourism products, services and content
Renewals
Domains follow the standard generic TLD renewal procedures. Auto-renew and explicit renewal are both available. When auto-renewal is enabled, the domain renews 30 days before expiry.
Note: Registrants renewing a name may be required to provide, update, or confirm all information needed for an initial application, including eligibility information.
