You can modify an email account's settings from either the Reseller Control Panel or the Mail Administration Console (MAC). Both interfaces let you edit user details, and each account keeps a history of the changes made to it.
About account changes
Email accounts are organized into editable sections, such as sending and receiving options, passwords, and forwarding. You edit a section, make your changes, and save. Every change is recorded in the account's history so you can review what was done, when, and by whom.
Warning: If you rename a user, all history associated with that user is deleted and cannot be recovered by the restore email tool or the restore contacts tool. The renamed account starts a new history from the rename date, and email and contacts can be restored only from that new history.
Step 1: Open the user in the Control Panel
Find the user you want to change in the Email section of the Reseller Control Panel.
- Sign in to the Reseller Control Panel.
- Click Email.
- Navigate to the user you want to modify and select the user. The User page opens to the User Settings tab.
Step 2: Edit and save the settings
Update only the sections you need to change.
- Click Edit in each section you want to change.
- Edit the related fields.
- Click Save.
Modifying user settings in the MAC
You can make the same changes in the MAC.
- Navigate to the MAC for your cluster. See which cluster your email services are on.
- Locate and select the user you want to modify. The User page opens to the User Settings tab. Use the tabs at the top to view additional fields.
- Modify the appropriate fields.
- Click Update.
Viewing user history
Each time an action is performed on a user account, an entry records the date and time, who initiated the action, and a brief explanation. You can review this history in either interface.
To view the history in the Control Panel:
- Sign in to the Reseller Control Panel and click Email.
- Navigate to the user.
- Scroll down to the Changes section.
To view the history in the MAC:
- Navigate to the MAC for your cluster.
- Locate the user.
- Click the user name, then select the History tab.
Next steps
- Set an autoresponder for the mailbox.
- Set default company preferences that apply to new accounts.
- Review the Mail Administration Console (MAC) guide.
