.PL domain policies

• .PL domains can be explicitly renewed within 1 year of expiry. Otherwise, if a domain is set to auto-renew, OpenSRS will renew it within 30 days before expiry.
• The domain will be deleted on the expiry date if not renewed. 
• Expired domains can be redeemed within 30 days from expiry for a fee

• Once the transfer has been started, a standard approval email is sent to the owner contact for the domain from OpenSRS. 
• After the transfer has been approved a subsequent approval email from the registry is sent to the contact based on the registry database. 
• This email cannot be resent and is only valid for five days. If the transfer is not approved within that time frame, the registry automatically cancels it.
• Important to note: OpenSRS only renews the domain if a domain has expired or the current expiry date is within 30 days of expiry after the transfer is completed.

Verification Process

• The domain will remain active for the first 48 hours after registration.
• If the registrant fails to verify the email within this time, the domain will be placed in ClientHold status, effectively suspending it.
• Once email verification is successfully completed, the ClientHold status is lifted, and the domain becomes active again.

Domain Suspension

Suspension occurs 48 hours after registration if the registrant email address has not been verified.

Registry Authority

Registries maintain the authority to enforce compliance and may suspend domain names that do not meet NIS2 requirements.

Review your domain portfolio and confirm that registrant contact details—particularly email addresses—are accurate.

Inform your teams and clients about the upcoming verification policy to minimize the risk of domain suspension.
