The OpenSRS email filters quarantine messages that are identified as spam. Occasionally a legitimate email is tagged as spam by mistake. You can release one or more quarantined messages, and they are moved to the user's Inbox. This article shows how to release messages in both the Control Panel and the Mail Administration Console (MAC).
About releasing quarantined messages
Releasing a message removes it from quarantine and delivers it to the user's Inbox. This is useful when a wanted message has been filtered out incorrectly.
Note: Users who access their mail with POP3 do not have access to their Spam folder. Releasing a message into their Inbox causes their email client to download it via POP3.
Release messages in the Control Panel
- In the Email section of the Control Panel, navigate to the user whose spam messages you want to release.
- Click the user name.
- From the Actions list, choose Release Spam Messages. A list of quarantined messages appears.
- Select the checkbox beside each message you want to release, or select the checkbox at the top of the list to select all displayed messages.
- Click Release.
