A domain's expiry date can appear differently depending on where you look, because the registry tracks its own data separately. This article explains how to find the authoritative expiry date for domains in your OpenSRS account and how to check the expiry date for domains that are not in your account.
About expiry date sources
Each registry keeps track of its expiry data separately, so the date shown by one source may differ slightly from another. Checking the OpenSRS Control Panel ensures you are viewing the same expiry data that OpenSRS holds for your domain.
Domains in your account
To view the expiry date of a domain in your account:
- Sign in to the Reseller Control Panel.
- Go to the Domains tab and open the domain you are looking for. The expiry date appears in the domain's overview section.
Note: If you have recently submitted a renewal and the new expiry date is not yet reflected in the Control Panel, contact OpenSRS Support.
Domains not in your account
If you do not have access to the Reseller Control Panel, or you want to check the expiry date of a domain that is not in your account, use the WHOIS lookup and refer to the Registrar Registration Expiration Date field.
Next steps
- Renew a domain before it expires. See Renewing domains.
- Recover an expired domain within the grace or redemption period. See Renewing and redeeming expired domains.
