Registrant Verification & Documentation Requirements
Effective November 3, 2025, the National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) requires that all registrants of .ma and .co.ma domains provide valid identification or company documentation that matches the registrant information in the domain record.
These requirements apply to both new orders (registrations and transfers) and existing domains registered before this date.
For New Registrations and Transfers
Starting November 3, 2025, all new registrations and transfers for .ma and .co.ma domains must include valid registrant identification documents.
Acceptable documents:
For Individuals:
- A copy of a valid National Identity Card (CIN), passport, or residence permit.
For Legal Entities:
- A copy of the Commercial Register, the Common Company Identifier (ICE), or any equivalent document.
(Public administrations and institutions are exempt from this requirement.)
How to submit documents:
- The reseller submits the Register or Transfer order via EPP or the RCP.
- After submitting the order, the reseller must contact the OpenSRS Support Team and email the required documents to help@opensrs.com.
- The registrant data in the order must match 100% the information shown on the submitted identification or company document. Any mismatch may result in rejection or suspension.
- The OpenSRS team will verify the accuracy and validity of the provided information before the order is processed.
Important:
Domains whose information or supporting documents do not comply with registry requirements may be suspended 14 days after registration or transfer, without refund or compensation.
For Existing (Legacy) Domains
This policy also applies to .ma and .co.ma domains already registered before November 3, 2025.
All existing domains must be verified by December 28, 2025, to remain compliant.
How to verify existing domains:
- Review the list of affected domains under your account.
- Submit a Modify (Update) order via API or RCP to update or confirm the registrant data.
- Ensure the registrant data matches exactly the information shown on the provided identification or company document.
- Email the supporting documents to the OpenSRS Support Team at help@opensrs.com, attaching the documents and referencing the relevant domains.
Domains that remain unverified or whose information does not comply after December 28, 2025, may be suspended by the registry until compliant documentation is received.
Key Deadlines
- November 3, 2025 – Verification requirements take effect for all new .ma and .co.ma registrations and transfers.
- December 28, 2025 – Deadline to submit documents for verification of existing (legacy) domains.

Support, payments and other information
- ANRT has issued a list of reserved terms that cannot be registered unless there is a written justification (such as a patent, incorporation name, or the term will be used by a relevant authority) for requiring the domain name. The list can be found at the registry site. If there is no trademark for the name and the justification is rejected, the domain will be deleted by the registry with no refund issued.
- The registry reserves the right to cancel any registration at any time without a refund if they think the domain name infringes on any rights.
