Country code top-level domain extension for Israel and is regulated by ISOC-IL.
Registration Details
Registration details can be found in the TLD reference chart.
Eligibility / Requirements
- The registration process requires providing the domain name holder details name, address, e-mail, telephone number, address, company number if business, administrative and technical contacts, and active nameservers.
- It is important to note that the domain(s) allocated must be intended for active use. The allocated domain name(s) must have an active delegation to operational primary and secondary DNS nameservers, and both nameservers must have permanent IPs.
Registrant Data Verification Requirements
- When a registration and contact update is initiated, the registrant must verify that all their registrant data are correct.
- The registrant verification email will be sent to the registrant’s email address by OpenSRS.
- The registrant has 72 hours to verify the accuracy of their data by clicking the link in the email; otherwise, the order will fail.
- Registrant Verification is conducted before submitting the order to the ISOC-IL (Registry Operator).
- Registrant email verification is triggered for all new registrations and contact updates regardless of whether the previous registrant's contact data set was verified.
Important to note
- It is the registrant's responsibility to have up-to-date, complete, and correct all recorded data in the whois database about the registered domain name, particularly data relating to the contact person, throughout the registration.
- If the registrant whois data appears to be incomplete, incorrect, or not brought up-to-date, making it extremely difficult to identify the registrant, the ISOC-IL (Registry Operator) has the right to possibly revoke the relevant registrant’s domain name without notice.
Permitted period(s)
- Registration period(s): 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years only.
- Renewal period(s): 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 years only – counted from the end of the existing allocation period.
Required contacts
- Owner, Admin, & Tech
Transfer
- Auth-code is required to transfer between registrars.
- Auth-code is valid for five days and is a one-time use.
- Owner change is not supported as part of the transfer (registrar to registrar transfer). Registrant whois data will remain the same.
- OpenSRS will disregard the new registrant data input and replace owner data with existing (original) contact data saved on the registry level.
- Domains are not renewed as part of the transfer. However, OpenSRS will renew a domain only in cases where the domain is expired after transfer.
Monitoring and audits
- During the domain name lifecycle, the registry may take certain steps to substantiate whether a Registrant meets the requirements described in the policy. Registry may request that the Registrant provide information to demonstrate compliance and maintain its eligibility.
- Failure to respond within the specified timeframe may result in suspension or deletion of the domain name.
- Where the registry determines that the Registrant does not meet the registration requirements described in the registry policy, the registry may in their absolute discretion cancel, lock, place on hold, transfer or delete the domain name.
