The RSS tab lets you follow your favorite blogs and news sites without leaving Webmail. Instead of opening each website to look for new articles, you subscribe to its feed once and the latest posts show up automatically — newest first. Click any headline to jump to the full article on the original site.
The RSS layout
RSS is made up of two parts: the feed list on the left (showing every site you've subscribed to, organized into categories if you like), and the feed display on the right (showing the articles in whichever feed you've selected).
Note: RSS is an optional component, so it may not appear in every Webmail account. If you don't see an RSS tab, your provider hasn't enabled it.
Before you begin
- The URL of the feed you want to follow — most blogs and news sites publish their RSS link on their homepage or in the page footer
Add a feed
- Click RSS in the sidebar.
- Click Actions in the top-right corner.
- Choose Subscribe to feed.
- Type or paste the feed URL into the Feed or site URL field.
- (Optional) Pick a category from the Place in category drop-down.
- Click Subscribe.
Read a feed
- Click the feed name in the feeds list. The most recent articles appear in the middle pane, newest first.
- Click an article's title to open the full piece on the source website.
Unsubscribe from a feed
- Right-click the feed in the feeds list and choose Edit feed.
- Click Unsubscribe.
- Click Ok to confirm.
Alternatively, click the feed to open it, then choose Unsubscribe from the Actions menu.
Add a category
Categories group related feeds together — for example, "News," "Tech," "Cooking." They make a long subscription list easier to scan.
- From the Actions drop-down, choose Preferences.
- On the Feeds tab, from the Categories drop-down, choose Add category.
- Type the category name and click Ok.
- (Optional) Move existing feeds into the new category — drag and drop, or open a feed and pick the new category from the Place in category drop-down, then click Save.
- Click Exit preferences.
Note: A new category doesn't show up in the feeds list until at least one feed has been added to it.
Reorder feeds and categories
By default, categories and the feeds inside them are listed alphabetically. You can put them in any order you like.
- From the Actions drop-down, choose Preferences.
- Click the Feeds tab.
- Click and drag any feed or category to its new spot.
- Click Exit preferences.
