Setting Up Your Storefront Account with Stripe Direct

We are transitioning from Stripe Connect to Stripe Direct. Processing payments through Storefront now requires you to connect your own Stripe account. New resellers will be unable to activate your storefront until November 12th.

Key Events and Actions Starting October 29th

For new Reseller signups:

  • The Getting Started page will redirect you to the payments tab, where you can find a Connect Stripe button to set up your Stripe Direct. You will be redirected back after installation.
  • The Getting Started page will display a message at the bottom, and you will not be able to activate your store until November 12th.

For current Resellers:

  • Current resellers must link their Stripe account within two weeks. Failure to do so will result in unprocessed transactions. This is crucial for smooth transactions.

Key Events and Actions After November 12th

  • If you signed up between October 29th to November 12th, you will be able to activate Storefront after November 12th, 2024.
  • If your account balance is less than $25, a banner will be displayed on your dashboard to inform you. You will receive a notification on the dashboard directing you to the add funds page in the Reseller Control Panel (RCP).

New Storefront User Stripe Setup

A setup process is required upon first login only. OpenSRS resellers will need to use their current credentials to log in. There will be three sections that need to be completed before the service is active.

  1. Log into Storefront Manager, and you will be greeted with the Get Started page. Click the Connect your account with Stripe section to begin.
  2. You'll be taken to your Payments tab within Settings. Press Connect Stripe.
  3. A new window will open to install the Storefront App connecting with the Stripe account.
  4. After successfully connecting to Stripe, you will be redirected to your Storefront Payments page. From there, you can add funds by pressing Check Funds to begin.
  5. Please be aware that if you connected your Stripe account before October 29th, you cannot activate your store until November 12th. However, you may still complete the remaining setup tasks.

    Note: The Activate button will be inactive and display a date indicating when it will become available for pressing.

Existing Storefront Reseller Stripe Direct Setup

If you are an existing reseller, you must set up Stripe Direct. A popup will appear upon login to guide you through the process.

  1. When you log into Storefront Manager, a popup will inform you, and you will be greeted with a popup that informs you about the new Stripe Direct setup.
  2. You'll be taken to your Payments tab within Settings. Press Connect Stripe.
  3. A new window will open to install the Storefront App that will connect with Stripe.
  4. After successfully connecting to Stripe, you will be redirected to your Storefront Payments page. From there, you can add funds by pressing Check Funds to begin.

Adding Funds to your Storefront Account

  1. Log into Storefront Manager.
  2. On your Storefront Dashboard, press Check Funds to add account funds in the OpenSRS Reseller Control Panel.
    Note: You will receive a low balance notification when your account balance is less than $25.

Troubleshooting

  • If you choose the Do this later button when prompted, a banner will appear on your Storefront Dashboard, allowing you to continue the setup.
  • If your Storefront has not connected a Stripe account, it will be unable to process any orders until one is connected.
  • If your Storefront has insufficient funds, you will be prompted to Add Funds in the OpenSRS Reseller Control Panel to avoid orders from failing.
